Faro Punta Mulas stands on a hill point north of the town of Isabel Segunda. Don Juan Puig Cerber built the lighthouse in 1895, and it was restored in 1992. It was partially damaged by Hurricane Maria in 2017, and is (very) slowly being restored once more.
From the garden you can see Isabel II, the colorful fishing boats in the harbor, the north shore of Vieques and, in the distance, the main island of Puerto Rico.
Prior to Hurricane Maria in 2017, the Lighthouse was a wonderful, smaller event space. The grounds were well manicured and the buildings well kept. Sadly, it has yet to be fully restored to its former beauty.
The annex used for receptions was destroyed in Hurricane Maria and has not been rebuilt. Additional news about restoration is expected soon, and some movement on the restoration has already begun.
